An introduction to the features and controls of RDR First Response.

      Enforce The Law

Easily stop and detain perps, disarm troublemakers and make arrests.

As you walk the land as a lawman, RDRFR upgrades your authority with a number of easy to use features for enforcing the law.  Whether you want to stop anyone in the game world and order them to put their hands up, disarm someone of their holstered weapon, or simply tie them up and take them to jail, we've got you covered with our easy to use contextual prompts that are displayed when you target someone.

      Controls

      • Target anyone in the game world and press 'Stop' to order them to halt, which will bring up further options.
      • Alternatively, aim a weapon at someone and press 'Hands Up' to order them to stop and raise their hands.
      • Aiming your weapon presents a different set of options, including the ability to arrest and disarm.

      Conduct Investigations

Be called upon to disseminate justice by the law abiding people of the land.

As the local arbitrator of justice, the good, honest folk of the land will come to you for help.  In RDRFR, their problems are suddenly your problems, for you to investigate and respond to as you please.

When approached, you can choose to accept or decline a request for help from a citizen.  Should you accept, you'll be tasked with resolving their concern, be it a complaint about a missing horse or a report of two gunslingers going at it.

      Controls

      • Citizens looking for the help of the Law are marked by red witness blips.
      • You can accept or decline a request or tattle by following the on-screen prompts.

      Request Backup

Simple integration with the game's powerful Dispatch systems makes requesting backup easy and efficient.

You can request backup in RDRFR to help you out with tricky suspects or spontaneous shootouts.  Using the same lawmen and horses as the game itself, your backup will respond to your location and automatically engage any enemies (e.g. criminals that are shooting or fighting).  You can request backup as many times as you like, although it will take longer and longer for additional units to arrive as they are called in from further away.

      Controls

      • Request for backup by pressing the 'Push to Talk' key used for RDR Online.  This is the N key on a keyboard, by default.
      • You can open your game's pause menu and go to the Controls section to find out what your Push to Talk key is.
      • Once called, your backup will respond to your location either on foot or on a horse, depending on what is practical.

      Recruit Partners

Recruit lawmen to tag along with you and provide assistance.

Any lawman in RDRFR can be recruited to partner up with you.  If you recruit a lawman, they will accompany you until they either die or you dismiss them.  Recruited lawmen will act in a similar fashion to backup units, too, and will automatically engage any nearby enemies who are presenting an active threat.  You can issue basic commands to recruited lawmen, like asking them to remain in position or to continue following you.

      Controls

      • Target any lawman in the world and a contextual prompt option called 'Recruit' will be shown.
      • Once you have recruited a lawman, target them again to see the basic commands that you can give them.
      • Similarly, target any recruited lawman and press the 'Dismiss' key to dismiss them.

      Perks Of The Job

With fixes, enhancements and ambiance, RDRFR brings a uniquely seamless experience while playing as a cop.

Aside from the main features of the mod, a big bonus is the unique enhancements it brings to the experience of playing the game as a non player character which, by default, has some problems.  In RDRFR, all cores are unlocked - giving you proper amounts of health and stamina, plus food and potions work nicely with any character, including support for overpowering them.  Adding to this, RDRFR supports both eagle eye and dead eye, giving you that extra edge as you play.  Besides this, you'll notice that other characters in the world react differently to you, law enforcement will always be friendly, and shopkeepers will even greet you as a sheriff!
